Time for some good old-fashioned feminine values

As a women who’s worked in a largely male-dominated field and let’s face it, male-dominated world, I have understandably become bitter and calloused about how our society treats women.

However, there are a lot of cases where “our society” that treats women poorly includes women themselves. I have heard and seen enough women-on-women verbal degradation. It breaks my heart. I feel these women are bullied not only by society but also by something or someone who has devalued the feminine in themselves so much that they have adopted this trait into themselves and have learned to cope only by devaluing their feminine characteristics.

I have also seen many men who have been taught to devalue their feminine characteristics. This is also heartbreaking. Therefore, I think the best way to help all of us is to

VALUE FEMININE VALUES!

Let’s separate the genders from the traditional gender values and be clear about it.

How many times have we heard men tease each other about being a “Nancy,” “Sally,” or worse “Pussy,” – implying that the other man is being womanly, or girlish and also implying that this is a bad thing?

Or how about the opposite, telling a woman that she is being a “hoss,” “strong,” or “manly,” and implying that these are all admirable traits?

Our society and the world really could use and value more of these feminine values, don’t you think?
