My sustainable/non-poisonous life hack for getting rid of the field bindweed.

These weeds are nearly impossible to get rid of via the usual method of pulling them out. About any part of the plant can reproduce itself, so not only does pulling it out NOT get rid of them, it can break the plant into multiple parts that then can also become a new weed!

1. Tie them up in a ball near the root.

2. Save the boiling water from boiling pasta/whatever by putting a glass bowl underneath your strainer. (Instead of boiling water just for this purpose… saving water that has been boiled for an initial purpose saves energy.) I use a 4-cup measuring cup – easier to pour. I recommend wearing glove-type potholders just in case.

3. Pour the boiling water on the weed.

It works!
